I have drank LARGE quanities of diet soda since the 1980’s to stay thin and at 46 I’m noticing some real problems including balance, vision, finding words & memory. I can’t prove anything but really believe these problems are from heavy long term use.
So now what for those who are diabetic? They cannot consume regular foods and drinks because of the sugar content. And heard that Splenda is isn’t much safer either. This makes far more complicated for diabetic people and those who watch their sugar intake.

I knew a girl in high school that drank NOTHING but Diet Coke…if her mom didn’t buy it she’d go thirsty…she’d been that was since grade school….she died of a brain tumor at 19. I’m not saying that’s what caused it but it’s a bit too coincidental for me.

@ville9te The harmful effects of aspartame can vary. In your case it apparently caused headaches. Be aware, many ‘normal’ sodas contain High Fructose Corn Syrup though, another harmful substance.

I used to drink a lot of Pepsi Max and I constantly had headaches. No other symptons though. I switched to sugar sweetened sodas a little over a month ago and since then I have not had a single headache.

@boricuamobsta bottled water is not regulated and many of them contain flouride. because flouride is removed by reverse osmosis during the filter process, i get my driniking water from the refill station at the supermarket which uses reverse osmosis to filter and purify.
